This week Cathryn and I will be volunteering with Ouelessebougou Alliance in Mali, West Africa. Our team of 15 health care providers and other volunteers will help patients with pelvic prolapse.

Mali, the eighth largest country in Africa, is about the size of South Africa and nearly twice the size of the U.S. state of Texas. 20 Million people live in Mali. About 94 percent of all Malians are Muslim. Mali's climate is dry and one of the hottest in the world.
